New CETEUS Project VIADUCT

300.000€ Grant for Jean Monnet Network "Enhancing VIsibility of the Academic DialogUe on EU-Turkey CooperaTion" (VIADUCT)

Das Centre for Turkey and EU Studies (CETEUS) der Universität zu Köln unter der Leitung von Prof. em. Dr. Wolfgang Wessels hat im Rahmen des „Erasmus+“-Förderprogrammes der Europäischen Union in der Förderlinie „Jean-Monnet-Netzwerke" einen Grant in Höhe von knapp 300.000€ eingeworben. Das Jean-Monnet-Netzwerk „VIADUCT“ wird 40 Partner in der EU, der Türkei und der Nachbarschaft vernetzen. Geleitet wird es von Prof. Wessels und Dr. Funda Tekin. Erasmus+ wird im Auftrag der Europäischen Kommission durch die EACEA (Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency) verwaltet. Jean-Monnet-Netzwerke fördern die Bildung und die Entwicklung von Konsortien internationaler Akteure (Hochschuleinrichtungen, Spitzenforschungszentren, Abteilungen, Teams, einzelne Fachkräfte usw.) im Bereich EU-Studien, um Informationen zu sammeln, Verfahren auszutauschen, Wissen aufzubauen und den europäischen Integrationsprozess voranzutreiben. Unter dem Titel "Enhancing VIsibility of the Academic DialogUe on EU-Turkey CooperaTion" (VIADUCT) erreichte der Projektvorschlag des CETEUS die außergewöhnlich gute Bewertung von insgesamt 96,5 von 100 Punkten im Begutachtungsprozess. Es konnte sich zusammen mit 45 anderen Projekten in einem Bewerberfeld von über 320 Projektanträgen durchsetzen.

 

 

The Centre for Turkey and EU Studies (CETEUS) at the University of Cologne, led by Prof. em. Dr. Wolfgang Wessels, has successfully applied for a grant in the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme. In the sub-programme “Jean Monnet Networks”, the CETEUS project was granted the sum of 300.000€ by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) which administrates the programme on behalf of the European Commission. Under the directorship of Prof. Wessels and Dr. Funda Tekin VIADUCT represents a network of 40 partners in the EU, Turkey and the neighbourhood. Jean Monnet Networks foster the creation and development of consortia of international players (Higher Education Institutions, Centres of Excellence, departments, teams, individual experts, etc.) in the area of European Union studies in order to gather information, exchange practices, build knowledge and promote the European integration process across the world. Entitled “"Enhancing VIsibility of the Academic DialogUe on EU-Turkey CooperaTion" (VIADUCT)”, the CETEUS application received an excellent rating (96,5 out of 100) in the evaluation procedure. Together with 45 different projects, it was selected for funding from among a field of more than 320 applications submitted.
